Building Indeed’s Austin office involved renovating a five-story, 183,911-sq-ft space into a collaborative work area with a café, game room, gym, library and break rooms. 

Creating that environment involved troubleshooting major obstacles. Near the end of construction, workers discovered a mismatched concrete overlay had been installed because of a product shipping error. The team used special machinery to demolish the overlay without damaging other finishes, and the concrete manufacturer covered the cost of the mistake.

The team also had to resequence construction activities and source certain materials from U.S. warehouses after the pandemic left them unable to acquire materials from overseas.
