Gregs G. Thomopulos, P.E., Chairman & CEO of Stanley Consultants of Houston, was elected president of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers for a two-year term. FIDIC represents globally the consulting engineering industry. Thomopulos has been on the organization’s executive committee for six years. The building includes interior courtyards for daylighting, lighting control systems to reduce energy use and low-VOC products for a healthy work environment. Construction on the 12,350-sq-ft facility began August 2008 and was completed in February.

Work included a 14,500-sq-ft expansion of the emergency department, featuring three trauma rooms, 16 exam rooms and a computerized tomography room. Space also was left for a chest X-ray room in the future. Another 3,700 sq ft involved minor renovations to the hospital.
