Submitted by Ascent Construction The Emigration Fire Station No. 119 is a two-story, three-bay, 10,440-sq-ft fire station serving the Emigration Canyon area. The station includes a workout room with a rubberized floor, dorm areas, a large break room, outdoor deck and a kitchen area. The entrance to the facility features a wood door surrounded by hand-stained glass and a stamped concrete floor. Heated floors, automated doors, exterior lighting and high-pressure lines are provided for the apparatus bays. Submitted by Hogan & Associates Construction The city of Evanston selected Hogan & Associates to act as the CM/GC for the Roundhouse and Rail Yards restoration and adaptive re-use project. Located on 27 acres next to the historic Main Street area of downtown Evanston, the main component of this project is the phased restoration of the 64,000-sq-ft roundhouse, built in 1912. Section one transformed a section of the building into a meeting and events space to support and expand the capabilities of the adjacent multi-purpose Machine Shop Event Center, which was completed in 2004. The office serves as a primary meeting and administrative space for the Utah chapter of the American Institute of Architects. It also is intended as a demonstration of the AIA’s commitment to sustainability, both through its design and the interactive display wall near the office entrance. Submitted by Mountain Crane Service This project consisted of a three-week shutdown of a portion of a refinery in Salt Lake City to move live stacks and add equipment, perform repairs and complete improvements. Crane operators and safety foremen worked to complete the job on time by running a three-week schedule 24/7. The project was completed on time, within budget, and the refinery was able to keep running during the streamlined project.
