Skyrocketing on the ENR MidAtlantic Top Contractor rankings this year, Hourigan Construction Corp. is ENR MidAtlantic's 2021 Contractor of the Year.
The firm will be profiled in the August issue of ENR MidAtlantic, which will feature the region's annual Top Contractor rankings. Hourigan will also be honored at the ENR MidAtlantic Regional Best Projects Awards in October. For more information on the event click here.
Not only did Hourigan’s revenue increase by almost 40% during 2020, the Richmond, Va.-based contractor says it had zero site shutdowns due to COVID-19. Hourigan has also seen a 146% increase in revenue between 2015 and 2020.
Beyond its Richmond headquarters, Hourigan also has offices in Hampton Roads, Va. and one in West Virginia. The firm with a 94% employee retention rate also onboarded 65 new employees during 2020. In 2020, the firm oversaw the implosion of a large tower in Downtown Richmond. It is also finishing Virginia’s first and tallest large-scale mass timber building, APEX Plaza.
The firm’s employees completed more than 1,000 community service hours during 2020 and chief executive, Mark. J. Hourigan, is active in the industry. He is currently the board chair of the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech.
Hourigan ranked No. 29 on last year’s ENR MidAtlantic Top Contractor list with $335.37 million in regional revenue. Check out the August issue of ENR MidAtlantic to find out where Hourigan ranks in this year's rankings.
