For the second time in the ENR MidAtlantic Best Projects competition, a sustainability expert has selected ENR MidAtlantic's 2022 Best Projects sustainability award winners.
The Excellence in Sustainability winner, along with the Sustainability Award of Merit winners, will be honored as part of the Best Projects 2022 awards event on Oct. 25. For more information about the Regional Best Projects event, please visit https://www.enr.com/enr-best-projects-awards/baltimore
All of the Best Project winners and Award of Merit winners will be honored at the event and profiled more in depth in the October issue of ENR MidAtlantic.
For the sustainability award, our expert judged the projects based on their sustainability information, which includes the project's overall sustainability strategy, choice of materials, energy savings, etc., as described in an essay question. While major green designations like LEED and WELL are preferable, they are not absolutely critical.
Our judge also considered how well the project team went above and beyond baseline industry requirements on the submitted project. Entries that clearly identify the strategies that led to excellent sustainability results were scored higher than more general responses.
