Langan Engineering & Environmental Services of Elmwood Park, New Jersey has acquired Treadwell & Rollo, a San Francisco-based geotechnical and environmental engineering firm helping to attain nationwide reach and shared access to technical resources. The acquisition is a first in the 40-year history of Langan, a privately held consulting firm with 500 employees in 14 offices around the world. 70 professionals from Treadwell & Rollo’s California offices in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and Sacramento will be added to Langan.
“Two elite firms with more than 60 years combined experience have joined forces to grow our client-focused business,” said David T. Gockel, President/CEO of Langan. “We are now capable of handling the most challenging projects anywhere in the country and beyond.”
Major projects that Langan has been involved with include the New Meadowlands Stadium for the Giants and Jets, a recent winner of New York Construction’s Project of the Year for 2010 award, the Four Seasons Hotel, South Florida’s tallest building, and the Shops at Atlas Park, winner of the 2007 Phoenix Award, Environmental Protection Agency Region 2. Langan supports developmental projects for academic institutions, hospitals, and government agencies, as well as large-scale national and international infrastructure projects. Langan’s environmental practice specializes in compliance programs for major corporations in the petro-chemical, utilities, and manufacturing industries and is widely acknowledged as a leader in remedial design for brownfield and Superfund sites.
Treadwell & Rollo has provided consulting services throughout the planning, investigation and construction stages of development projects including initial site investigations, soil, soil vapor and groundwater remediation, engineering design, as well as witness testimony in court for more than 20 years.
Treadwell & Rollo will keep its name temporarily while being branded as “A Langan Company” and in 2012, the firm will then become known as Langan Engineering & Environmental Services.
