Construction continues to grow in the New York region, and ENR New York will feature the top design firms of the region in the May issue. In addition to the results of the Top Design Survey, the issue will feature the Design Firm of the Year. This year, ENR New York has chosen Greenman-Pedersen, Inc.
The 50-year old firm has several offices in New York and New Jersey, as well as locations in a number of other states. The majority of GPI’s work is in the transportation sector; projects include the Tappan Zee Bridge replacement, New Jersey Turnpike east viaduct widening and Long Island Expressway Capacity Improvement Project. GPI is also involved in the George Washington Bridge rehabilitation and the Bayonne Bridge Navigational Clearance, a $1 billion project in Bayonne, New Jersey.
Looking toward the future, the firm was recently awarded two contracts by New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) for work that will take place on the Queensboro and Manhattan Bridges.
GPI is also committed to giving back, and recently kicked off a 50 Charitable Acts program by visiting patients at Florida’s Hospital for Children in Orlando, Fla. They plan to continue the program with a visit to a hospital in Baltimore this summer.
There will be more about Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., and other top design firms in the next issue of ENR New York. If you have any questions or comments, please email me at zevina@enr.com.
