For its strong financial performance – more than doubling its regional revenue in the last year alone – its extensive work in the booming energy/petrochem sector as well as its dedication to community outreach and sustainability, Zachry Holdings, Inc. has been named ENR Texas & Louisiana’s 2013 Design Firm of the Year.

The San Antonio-based company saw a significant jump in regional revenue thanks to its acquisition of JV Industrial Co., a Houston-based turnaround, construction, engineering and fabrication services firm, last October. But this growth is also attributable to its work in power, petroleum and industrial processing.

The company’s largest regional project to break ground last year was the $80 million BASF Process Facility Expansion in Freeport, Texas.

On the sustainable front, Zachry has several internal programs geared toward energy conservation, materials usage and recycling. Beyond the jobsite, the firm continues to excel in its community outreach programs. Employees at more than 350 Zachry sites and offices give to the United Way, and the company’s fall 2012 campaign broke company records with employee donations and Zachry’s dollar-for-dollar corporate match totaling $4,475,300. The firm is also involved with charity work at Buchner Children’s Village; Life Share Blood Donation Center; Boys’ Haven of America; St. Mark’s Lutheran Church; the Relay for Life; Orange Christian Services; Adopt-a-Highway; Shangri La Botanical Garden; the Federal Correctional Complex Religious Services; Shriners’ Hospital for Children, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Relay for Life, The MS150, The Rose and area blood banks, along with many others.
