ENR Mountain States is pleased to announce the winners of the 2023 Best Projects competition across a seven-state region that includes Utah, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming and the Dakotas.
A panel of judges from all areas of the industry reviewed around 100 entries in a variety of categories, examining factors such as safety, innovation, craft quality, and community or industry benefit. Judges could select a Best Project and an Award of Merit if warranted.

In addition to the awards listed below, we will be presenting Excellence in Safety and Excellence in Sustainability awards to deserving projects. Our judges have also chosen several finalists for the ENR Mountain States Project of the Year. One project in each area (Intermountain and Colorado/Wyoming/Dakotas) will win top the top honor and the winners will be announced at the regional Best Projects events in December. We will preview safety and sustainability winners, along with the project of the year finalists in another blog leading up to the event.
The awards are split into the two areas, as noted above, to correspond with their respective awards events (Salt Lake City on Dec. 6 and Denver on Dec. 8). They are listed by those areas below. At each event we will also recognize the ENR Mountain States Legacy Award winner, Owner of the Year, Design Firm of the Year, Contractor of the Year and Specialty Contractor of the Year in their respective area.
