A native of Los Angeles, Amy Imamura currently serves as the Director of Economic Impact & Transformation at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). In this role, she oversees the economic impact team to ensure business inclusivity and local workforce compliance for LAWA’s $30 billion capital improvement program. Amy leads a team that is leveraging LAWA’s capital program to create meaningful and transformational economic strategies and opportunities for Los Angeles. She previously served as LAWA’s Director of Community Relations where she successfully developed and implemented community relations programs aimed at strengthening the relationship between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and its neighboring airport communities.

With over 23 years at the City of Los Angeles, Amy’s journey in civil service began through the City’s Summer Youth Employment & Training Program. Alongside her professional commitments, she served as an adjunct professor at Loyola Marymount University for almost two decades and has volunteered as a board member for a number of non-profit organizations including EXP Future, Inglewood Chamber of Commerce, Westchester Family YMCA, and Westchester Rotary Club. She has also served as LAWA’s liaison for the City of L.A. Youth Development Dept. and the South Bay Workforce Investment Board Youth Development Council Committee. With her unwavering commitment to fostering economic growth, community relations and youth development, Amy’s contributions continue to shape a prosperous and inclusive future for the region.
