As chair, president and CEO of Parsons Corp (NYSE: PSN), Carey Smith is responsible for leading the company’s strategy, growth, business execution and global operations, and guides its more than 17,000 employees operating in 23 countries in their mission to create the future of national security and global infrastructure. Smith joined Parsons in 2016 as president of the Federal Solutions business, and was promoted successively to COO, and president and COO before being unanimously elected CEO by the board of directors in July 2021 and appointed as chair in April 2022. Since becoming CEO, she has set a clear strategic vision focused on core high growth and enduring markets, strengthened the executive leadership team, evolved the corporate culture resulting in improved employee hiring and retention, led multiple acquisitions and drove strong, sustained organic revenue growth.

Prior to joining Parsons, Smith’s leadership roles included serving as president of the defense and space business unit at Honeywell, vice president of Honeywell Aerospace Customer and Product Support, president of Honeywell Technology Solutions, Inc., and president and CEO of Lockheed Martin’s Canada operations. She began her career as a systems engineer. She holds an MS in electrical engineering from Syracuse University and a BS in electrical engineering from Ohio Northern University, and serves on the boards of Parsons Corp. and Edison International, along with boards for multiple non-profit organizations.
