Lunchtable Host

Karyn D. Martin is currently the President & CEO of Interprise/Southwest Interior & Space Design Inc., a multi-million-dollar commercial interior design company in Dallas. Ms. Martin joined the Interprise team in 1998 and is now responsible for leading all aspects of one of the most established commercial interior design businesses in the Southwest.

After studying business at West Virginia State University, Ms. Martin worked in HR and as a bookkeeper for the Walsdan Co. When she moved to Dallas, Martin was assistant to the COO of One-Source Worldwide Network, then became the director of human resources and corporate administration for Interprise. Over the past 25 years, Ms. Martin has held every senior position within the company, except that of designer. In 2011, Martin was involved in the conversion of the firm to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and is considered an expert in ESOP maintenance and stock evaluation process. During her tenure, Martin streamlined Interprise to focus resources on the most profitable core competencies. Since being appointed to the top job in 2018, Martin has reallocated resources to talent, marketing, and sales. Martin is especially proud that Interprise retained all employees during the pandemic and in the “great resignation” that followed.

Martin was recently proud to accept the 2023 DCEO Excellence in Architecture Award on behalf of her team and was recognized as a finalist in Addison Magazine’s 2018 Top Female Executives. She is currently a member of The Real Estate Council (T.R.E.C.), where she served on the executive board and held several directorships and was also a long-serving member of the Diversity Committee. Martin also partnered with BB&T Bank and the Small Business Development Center of Dallas to create a program that brings financial empowerment seminars to small businesses, heads of households, and students in underprivileged areas. She was recently appointed to the board of the Dallas Ft. Worth chapter of the African American Real Estate Professionals (AAREP).

Karyn Martin has run seminars on subjects such as leadership development, dealing with difficult people, and business etiquette, and is also a trained mediator, a licensed insurance broker and seasoned public speaker.
