Laura Ceja has served the UA Education and Training Dept. since 2017, promoting apprenticeship opportunities within the union as the National Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator. She began her career in Burbank, Calif. the UA Local 761 plumbing apprenticeship program in 1997, becoming a journeyman plumber and pipefitter. Laura has taught various aspects of the plumbing trade at her local UA training center — as a senior plumbing inspector and training officer for the City of Los Angeles, adjunct professor at UCLA Extension and at the UA’s Instructor Training Program Week. She is a graduate of the UA Instructor Training Program week, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Labor Education from the National Labor College and a Master of Science degree in Leadership Management from the University of Laverne in California. Her current responsibilities include creating partnerships with career preparation organizations and promoting piping trades careers.
