Bea Hsu is the Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), and has oversight of Los Angeles International (LAX) and Van Nuys (VNY) airports. She has more than 24 years of combined experience in development and operations of commercial real estate, housing, and aviation and transportation facilities.
Bea was appointed to the Board of Airport Commissioners by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti in August 2013, where she served as a Board Member until August 2021 and Board President until June 2023. During her term, she was instrumental in launching and executing a $15 billion capital improvement program for airport and landside modernization at LAX — which includes the in-progress Automated People Mover and Consolidated Rent-A-Car Facility, slated for opening in 2024.
As Executive Vice President for Brookfield Properties’ Commercial Development Group, Bea had oversight of a $3 billion pipeline of urban residential and mixed-use development projects throughout California and Hawaii. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2016, she was Senior Vice President for Development and Forward Planning for Related Companies of California. Her experience includes private and public finance and development projects that span a full range of regulatory, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and decarbonization mandates.
Bea has worked on policy issues at the municipal and state levels, and has extensive board experience — including service on the Planning Program Advisory Board of the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy and as an appointee to the Los Angeles Industrial Development Authority.
Twice recognized by Bisnow as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in LA Commercial Real Estate and recently named one of 50 Women to Watch for Boards, Bea holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Yale University.
