George L. Nash joined Atkins North America as CEO in October 2016, bringing more than 30 years’ experience to the role. SNC-Lavalin acquired WS Atkins plc on July 3, 2017. During his tenure Atkins North America has more than doubled its revenue and profitability. These results were accomplished by investing in people as a priority, creating upward mobility for top performers and creating an environment of collaboration, innovation and inclusivity.
Mr. Nash has gained significant leadership and business development experience across the globalal energy, infrastructure and construction markets.
After an early career with Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation, Mr. Nash held many executive roles with Washington Group International, Inc., where he advanced his career by providing a wide range of consulting, engineering, construction and commissioning services to markets worldwide. These executive roles included both business development and operational responsibility. Mr. Nash was responsible for their Power division worldwide later in his tenure, including overseeing the Power division’s merger and integration of the business with URS Corporation. He worked seven years with URS, which included four years as COO and then President of the global Energy and Construction division overseeing the Power, Industrial, Infrastructure, Mining, Oil & Gas and Federal Environmental businesses. After the AECOM merger with URS, he became President of the Energy, Infrastructure and Construction division for AECOM.
A registered engineer, Mr. Nash earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Brown University in Rhode Island. He is based in our New York City office.
