Best Projects Award of Merit: K-12 Education: University of Chicago Lab Schools - Earl Shapiro Hall — Collaboration among the owner, architect, construction manager and consultants resulted in a 10% savings on project costs for the Waukesha County Health and Human Services Building.

Other initiatives included safety alignment sessions during preconstruction, jobsite orientations for all workers, daily pre-task planning and active involvement from the owner's safety team and risk management group in outlining safety expectations for the site. Safety Week lunches were held in 2012 and 2013.
