Skanska USA Commercial Development of Washington, D.C., announced it will start construction on a Class A office building at 1776 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, Va.
The project will be 100% self-financed. Skanska estimates its investment at $63.5 million.
Located in Arlington’s Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor, 1776 Wilson Boulevard will consist of 108,000 sq ft of office space, and 26,000 sq ft of ground-level retail. There also will be 231 spaces of below-grade parking.
“We firmly believe in the strength and long-term value in Arlington,” stated Rob Ward, executive vice president and regional manager with Skanska USA Commercial Development. “This is an extraordinary site due to its great amenity base, proximity to transit and demand that we see in the market from tenants.”
Construction is scheduled to start during the fourth quarter of 2010, and the building is expected to complete in the second quarter of 2012.
The building will feature a green vegetated roof, water-use reduction, energy-efficient windows and improved indoor air quality.
Skanska USA Building will serve as the general contractor for the project. RTKL is the architect.
