Construction of the new $135-million Beavercreek Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio, is under way. Designed by architect HOK’s Chicago healthcare group, the 275,000-sq-ft, 113-bed greenfield hospital will sit on 22 acres in the Dayton suburb of Beavercreek. Part of Kettering Health Network, it will employ 200 people and offer emergency care, general surgery, interventional medicine, a birthing center, critical care, medical imaging, and cardiovascular diagnostic services.

The new building’s “town square” concept will make all outpatient services and inpatient elevators identifiable from the main entry. The site includes locations for several medical office buildings, an additional inpatient tower, and expansion of diagnostic and treatment facilities. Completion is scheduled for early 2012.
