The Indiana Department of Transportation has awarded a construction contract to widen and rebuild more than 2 mi of the State Road 45/46 Bloomington Bypass.
Milestone Contractors of Columbus, Ind., submitted the lowest bid among three Indiana contractors, offering to complete the work for $21.9 million.
The scope of construction includes widening and rebuilding S.R. 45/46 from Kinser Pike to Pete Ellis Drive, including enclosed storm sewers for improved drainage. S.R. 46 will also be resurfaced from Monroe Street to Kinser Pike. Existing traffic signals and railroad crossings will be replaced and modernized.
