Riley Construction was recently selected to provide preconstruction and construction management services for the three-story, 23,000-sq-ft new surgical addition and remodel for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, Ill.
In this new facility, primary surgical function is located on the second floor, which features four operating rooms (convertible to five) and a sterile core.
It also includes a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (four recovery bays and one isolation room), Same Day Surgery (seven recovery rooms and one patient holding room), a Central Sterile Processing Department, staff support (male and female locker rooms), administrative support (offices and a conference room), and public/family support (family waiting and consult rooms).
The first floor will be shell space for future development and the third floor will be a mechanical penthouse. HDR Architects’ Chicago office is leading the design with the project slated for completion in fall 2011.
Riley Construction is also delivering a new five-level, 500-space parking structure on the MRMC campus. The project will enhance campus parking capacity while freeing up land for future development.
