The 300,000-sq-ft building will house physician offices and outpatient clinics, as well as BJC HealthCare administrative offices.

The first floor will provide a lobby and about 10,000 sq ft of street-level retail space available for lease. A pedestrian bridge at the fourth level will link the building to the adjacent parking garage and to the Washington University Medical Center via the pedestrian bridge across Forest Park Avenue.

During the peak of construction, more than 100 construction workers will be on site, according to Tarlton project director Matt Pfund. The team is using the former Shoenberg Nursing School property as a construction staging area until 2011, and BJC plans to eventually turn the area into a park.
