The 600,000-sq-ft Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center is the newest addition to the distinct architecture that defines Denver's historic Civic Center Park. The project's location on two of the busiest streets in downtown Denver required heightened safety efforts.

No unplanned disruptions of traffic or utilities occurred during the project.

Careful measures were taken to minimize disruption during both excavation and demolition as well as during the explosive demolition of the Colorado History Museum before construction began. No unplanned disruptions of traffic or utilities occurred during the project. Mortenson's company-wide zero-injury program obligates every team member to stop unsafe work or correct unsafe acts; as a result, employee injuries are rare on the contractor's jobsites.
