PROJECT COST: $29 Million
The Henderson Detention Center, originally built in 1994 to house 262 inmates, is being expanded by 73,827 sq ft to add an additional 250 beds, with a new public entry, vehicle sally port, booking area and administration building. Another 8,000 sq ft is being renovated, including an improved kitchen, exercise rooms and a new staff lounge with an exterior patio. The housing pods maximize space efficiency and minimize inmate movement. Two housing pods share classrooms, interview rooms and outdoor recreation areas.
