Spaceport America will be the world�s first purpose-built commercial spaceport capable of accommodating the activities of both vertical and horizontal launch space vehicles, serving as the base for pre-flight and post-flight activities, and providing a center for interested spectators. The master plan includes: an airfield, internal roadways, water supply and distribution system, waste water collection and treatment system, aircraft rescue and fire fighting station, fuel storage facility and an iconic terminal and hangar facility. The terminal hangar facility will be the centerpiece of Spaceport America, home to Virgin Galactic operations. The project is pursuing LEED gold.
