California: Visitacion Development LLC is planning to build a mixed-use development on a site at the intersection of Bayshore Boulevard and Leland Avenue in San Francisco. The project will comprise up to 1,679 new housing units and up to 46,700 sq ft of retail, including a full-service grocery store and parkland. The property was formerly the site of the Schlage Lock factory, which operated from 1926 to 1999. AECOM is the designer of the project, which is valued at $50 million. Connecticut: Eversource Energy is planning to carry out the Central Connecticut Reliability Project, which entails constructing 36 miles of new 345-kv high-voltage overhead transmission lines, to be constructed in existing rights-of-way. It also includes upgrading two substations, one at Frost Bridge in Watertown, and the other in North Bloomfield. Burns & McDonnell is the designer. The project is valued at $301 million. Florida: Schlitterbahn Water Park & Resorts is planning to develop a water park and sports village on a 64-acre site at the intersection of Northwest 55th Street and Northwest 12th Avene in Fort Lauderdale. It will include artificial river systems, wave pools, water slides, downhill rapids, beaches, treehouse-style hotel rooms, virtual golf, and baseball and softball simulators. Indiana: The J.C. Hart Co. and Strongbox Commercial are planning to develop Montage on Mass, a mixed-use project on a site bounded by North New Jersey Street, East Street and Massachusetts Avenue in Indianapolis. The five-story building will contain up to 235 apartments, plus 40,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail space and two levels of underground parking. Schmidt Associates Architects Inc. is the designer, and J.C. Hart Co. will act as the joint venture's own general contractor. Construction is expected to begin in fall 2016.
