IG Has More Audits Under Way of Contractors' Work

Special inspector general for Iraq reconstruction, Stuart W. Bowen Jr., is continuing to examine U.S. contracts for rebuilding Iraqi infrastructure. Bowen told the House Armed Services Committee on Jan. 18 that ongoing audits include a comparison of design-build and direct contracting as well as a study of Agency for International Development contracts with Bechtel. He expects to announce in the second quarter the start of an audit of Parsons’ design-build contracts.
