Proposed Designs For San Francisco Skyscraper Unveiled

Development plans and designs for a new San Francisco transit terminal were showcased Aug. 6 by the Transbay Joint Powers Authority. TJPA will select a design and development plan by one of the three developer–architect teams on Sept. 20. The teams are: Pelli Clark Pelli Architects/Hines (left); Skidmore Owings and Merrill/Rockefeller Group Development Corp. (center); and Rogers Stirk Harbour+Partners/Forest City Enterprises–MacFarlane Partners (right). The proposed buildings range in height from 1,200 ft to 1,375 ft and would be the tallest on the West Coast.
