ohn W. Magaw, director of the recently established agency charged with upgrading security at the nation's airports , seaports and the rest of the transportation network, has resigned his position. The Dept. of Transportation announced July 18 that Secretary Norman Y. Mineta had accepted Magaw's resignation as Under Secretary for Security, the top post at the Transportation Security Administration. DOT didn't say why Magaw had resigned.
