The National Electrical Contractors Association has released an upgrade to its Safety Expert System software that includes new tools for injury and illness recordkeeping, forklift training, as well as an emergency preparedness section that addresses terrorism issues.
Version 2.1 is designed to help companies develop safety programs. It includes several of NECA's publications on a range of safety topics and Web access to many more. Cost for nonmembers is $450; for members, $300.
The record-keeping module, also sold as a stand-alone product for $79, will be supplied to Version 2 users free of charge. It helps users comply with new records requirements and privacy provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. More information is at www.necanet.org at the NECA store, under "safety and insurance."
