Attendance figures from an annual June construction technology trade show reveal a continued decline in the number of vendors showing and visitors attending, even as many from both groups remain positive about the value of such events.

Vendors polled and visitors interviewed expressed satisfaction with the quality of contacts and information at the June 3-6 A/E/C Systems show in Anaheim, Calif., even though the attendance was down. The show is billed as a conference and expo of technology for design, construction, owning and management of facilities.

Penton Media, the show's Exton, Pa.-based producer, reported the event had more than 150 exhibitors and drew slightly more than 5,000 registered visitors. The previous year's show, in Chicago, reported more than 220 exhibitors and 10,177 registered attendees, while the June 2000 event in Washington drew 245 vendors and more than 16,000 attendees.

Next year's event is set for June 2-5 in Washington, D.C. A sister construction technology show, Computers for Construction, is set for Dallas, Oct. 22-24.
