The $23-million first- and business-class lounges in the Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX serve customers of three airlines. The first-class Qantas lounge incorporates high-quality marble, European oak and tile finishes as well as custom furniture, carpet and glass. Marble delivery was delayed by a strike, and tight final tolerances between the marble and oak required close team collaboration. The joint business-class lounge serves patrons with two buffets, a bar, private showers and workstations. Qantas could not have a service lapse, so contractors used pull-planning to execute a four-phase delivery.
