Arkansas The University of Arkansas is planning to carry out an addition and upgrade to the Donald W. Reynolds Stadium in Fayetteville. The project entails a north end-zone addition, including new suites, loge boxes, club seats and club areas. The east and west concourses will connect to allow flow of patrons around the stadium. The project also will add a new game-day locker room, a training room, new elevators and a new video board. Massachusetts Wynn Las Vegas LLC is planning to build the Wynn Casino in Everett. The complex will include a 629-room, 700,000-sq-ft hotel, extending 22 stories above a 983,000-sq-ft podium comprising a spa, restaurants, a convention area, a gambling area, and a 1,441,000-sq-ft, three-level parking garage with 2,900 parking spaces. KlingStubbins/Jacobs is the designer, and Suffolk Construction Co. has been selected as the construction manager. Construction is expected to start in April 2016. New York The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center is planning a major expansion. The project will entail a 1.3-million-sq-ft expansion, including 500,000 sq ft of exhibition space, a 60,000-sq-ft ballroom and a four-level, 489,000-sq-ft parking garage. Oregon Red Rock Biofuels plans to build the Red Rock Lakeview Biofuel Refinery in Lakeview. The refinery will produce 12 million gallons of jet fuel per year from woody biomass materials. South Carolina The South Carolina State Ports Authority is planning to build the Hugh K. Leatherman Sr. Terminal, a three-berth marine container terminal, in North Charleston. Phase one will include a stormwater detention pond, 4,167 miles of wick drains, a 5,000-ft-long pipe-pile and sheet-pile containment structure, dredging, and placement of buttress and armor rock. Also included is construction of a 6,000-ft-long, two-lane roadway, with 6,300 ft of ductile-iron water main and 6,700 ft of sewer force main. Berger/ABAM Engineering Inc. is the designer, and WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff has been selected as the construction manager. The project is valued at $700 million. Iowa Epstein Construction Inc. has started building a pork processing facility at the Bridgeport West Industrial Park in Sioux City. The single-story, 600,000-sq-ft plant is being built on a 244.6-acre site. The plant is expected to process about three million hogs annually. Texas 3/1 The Plano Independent School District is requesting qualifications for architectural services for eight school projects, including renovations, facility upgrades, technology upgrades, reroofing projects and construction of permanent classroom space to replace portable classrooms. Wisconsin 3/1 The Pierce County Sheriff’s Dept. is seeking bidders to build a jail and sheriff department facility in Ellsworth. The project entails constructing a single-story, 55,600-sq-ft building to house an 80-bed jail, a 1,560-sq-ft administration area, a 1,135-sq-ft dispatch center, a 1,134-sq-ft emergency operations center and a 300-sq-ft medical office.
