JE Dunn Construction Co. has promoted Rodd Merchant to president of the firm’s West region. He will oversee JE Dunn’s offices in Denver, Colorado Springs, Phoenix and Portland. Merchant joined the firm in 2006.
Mike Harms has joined PCL Construction’s Denver operations as vice president and district manager. He oversees the firm’s buildings presence in the Colorado region. He joins PCL from owner representative firm ICON Venue Group.
Brinkman Partners has promoted Jay Hardy to chief operating officer of real estate services. Hardy will lead Brinkman’s development, brokerage and acquisitions teams. He was previously senior vice president of development.
Dan Seib has joined Mortenson Construction’s Denver operating group as a construction executive. He will lead the Mortenson teams building the new Colorado State University football stadium and the United Airlines Flight Training Center. Mortenson also has promoted Dan Mickelberry to chief estimator and Jeff Lindsay to estimating manager and hired Dave Espinosa as a senior project manager. Also, Jen Riedl has joined the firm’s Denver office as senior business development manager.
Laird B. Heikens has been promoted to president of Hensel Phelps Development, a division of Hensel Phelps Construction Co. He is based at the firm’s corporate office in Greeley, Colo.
Mike King, executive director of the Colorado Dept. of Natural Resources, has been selected as the new director of planning for Denver Water. His job includes ensuring that Denver Water continues to operate in an environmentally sustainable manner.
Denver’s Roth Sheppard Architects has promoted Adam Harding and Brian Berryhill to partner status. The AIA Colorado Chapter recognized Harding as its 2015 Young Architect of the Year. Berryhill, who previously worked for Oklahoma City-based Elliott + Associates Architects, joined Roth Sheppard in 2013.
CH2M has hired Eric Anderson as Rocky Mountain leader for the firm’s transit and rail practice, with a focus on the Denver market. CH2M also has appointed Leofwin Clark president of the Water Design-Build Council.
MKK Consulting Engineers Inc. has added Penny Cole as the firm’s innovation lab high-performance design lead. She leads MKK’s sustainable design and building performance analytics services.
Himmelman Construction Inc., Lakewood, Colo., has added Vaughn Goodbrand as preconstruction manager. He comes to the firm with more than 30 years of international construction experience.
USGBC Colorado has elected four new members to its board of directors. They are: Clayton Barczak, sustainability team leader, Ambient Energy; Tracye Herrington, co-owner and co-founder, GreenSpot Global; Joel Poppert, Colorado market leader, PACE Equity LLC; and Heather Schafer, architect, Hord Coplan Macht. Several USGBC Colorado board members recently ended their terms: Amanda Timmons, Ampajen; Gwen Gilley, Hord Coplan Macht; Pete Jefferson, M.E. Group; Stan Wagner, Red Thread Creative Group; and Don Fitzmartin, Fitzmartin Consulting Co.
