Caroline Fitzgerald has joined BOND as director of business development. She is responsible for developing new business and managing client relations for the Boston-based construction management firm’s education market sector. Previously, Fitzgerald was director of business development at VJ Associates.

Theresa McGovern of Vanasse Hagen Brustlin Inc. has joined the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Council, which endorses and provides leadership for the UMass Amherst college of engineering community. A project manager in VHB’s water resources group, McGovern focuses on storm water management and design, hydrology and hydraulics, water quality, watershed modeling and TMDL development and compliance.

Gilbane Building Co. has hired Sam Aureli as a project executive in its Boston office. Aureli’s experience in the academic sector includes managing projects for several leading higher-education institutions, including Harvard and MIT. Previously, Aureli was a project manager at The Casali Group. He also spent a decade at Suffolk Construction as a project manager and project executive.

Justin Kile has been named founding dean of the School of Engineering at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. Beginning in the fall, the school will offer degrees in civil, industrial, mechanical and software engineering and computer science. Kile was associate dean of engineering since 2013 in Quinnipiac’s former combined business and engineering school.
