Energy Solutions wanted to create a new office that would reflect its work in the advanced high-tech energy market. The client moved from a traditional office into an updated space, allowing designers to maximize rentable space and create an environment that would improve employee retention and help recruit the next generation of workers. The design team placed many of the built elements on the interior core, maximizing daylight and views. While the executive level was built out more traditionally with offices along the perimeter, full-glass fronts ensure maximum daylight in the space. A large atrium welcomes the public and serves as a gathering place for community events. It includes a two-story faux rock wall that depicts the geothermal properties of the earth’s core and symbolizes layers of bedrock.
