The University of Colorado Boulder’s Athletics Complex project is the largest renovation in the history of both Folsom Field and CU’s Dal Ward Athletic Center. Designed to improve the experience of both fans and student athletes, the project added premium seating, enhanced stadium amenities and improved its northeast corner. The new complex houses the state-of-the-art Champions Center, which has locker rooms, dining facilities and a lounge. The project also features a sports medicine and performance center and a net-zero-energy indoor-practice facility.
Crews installed an exterior-panel system on a building that was not originally designed for curtain wall. Specialty contractor KHS&S worked closely with the structural engineer to find a solution that involved installing the panels between floor slabs while working with less than an inch of flexibility in the process.
