The Austin Co. provided planning, architectural design, engineering and construction services for the expansion of this Northrop Grumman facility, highlighted by Building 100, the new manufacturing home for the U.S. Navy’s E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft. The project team designed and built the approximately 400,000-sq-ft aircraft manufacturing facility on an accelerated schedule to meet critical production schedules. Phase 1 of construction, at over 300,000 sq ft, included a roughly 200,000-sq-ft high bay with a more than 200-ft clear span center bay and two nearly 100-ft clear span side bays.
