Located at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn., ColossusTV is the world’s largest outdoor center-hung video board. Suspended from four cable-stayed steel towers, the massive video display clears the speedway’s infield pavement by more than 100 ft. The galvanized steel towers, ranging in height from 189 to 221 ft, are anchored by 4-in.-dia structural strand cables, grouted micropile concrete foundations and structural cable connectors. The main video boards consist of four LED screens, each measuring 63 ft wide and 30 ft tall. A 60-ft-dia ring of 6-ft-tall LED panels hangs from the bottom of the main video boards. More than 700 tons of steel were used to support the system.
