New York Asahi Shuzo Co. Ltd. is planning to construct a sake brewery near the Culinary Institute of America’s campus in Hyde Park. The project scope includes purchase and installation of rice receiving, storage, polishing, washing and steaming equipment, mixing and fermentation tanks, centrifuges, a bottling line, and koji mold storage and pasteurization equipment. The facility will have the capacity to produce 332,000 gallons per year. Equipment will be installed in a 52,500-sq-ft building to be constructed by others. The estimated EPC cost is $28 million. North Carolina Duke Energy Progress Inc. is planning to repower four coal-fired units at the 2,090-MW Marshall Steam Station—located on Lake Norman in Catawba County—to natural gas-fired units. The scope includes purchase and erection of structural steel and fuel storage tanks; retrofit of the coal-fired boilers; and purchase and installation of combustion turbine and generator sets, heat recovery steam generators, electrical generators and flow control and emissions control equipment. Texas DynaEnergetics is planning to construct an explosives hardware manufacturing plant at its campus in Blum. The Phase II scope includes construction of a 30,000-sq-ft building and purchase and installation of machining, finishing and assembly equipment. MYCON General Contractors Inc. is currently building a 40,000-sq-ft manufacturing and assembly facility at the site and may be selected for Phase II.
