Indiana The city of Lafayette is planning to replace its boiler system with a methane gas-fired cogeneration facility for its Lafayette Renew division. Michigan Highland Copper Co. is planning to construct a copper ore processing facility and an underground mine in Gogebic County. The Copperwood project scope includes design and construction of multiple surface buildings, ore and concentrate load-out and tailings management facilities, a 6,000-metric-tons-per-day process plant, access/haul roads and equipment foundations; purchase and erection of structural steel; and purchase and installation of a ball mill, conveyors, screens and concentrate regrind and concentrate thickening, filtration, tailings disposal, solvent extraction, dewatering, mine ventilation, dust suppression and load-out equipment. The mine will have the capacity to produce 28,000 metric tons of copper ore (chalcocite) over a 10.7-year life. Construction is expected to begin in January 2019. Minnesota Gevo Inc. is planning to expand isobutanol production capacity at its Agri-Energy LLC ethanol plant in Luverne. New Mexico EnLink Midstream LLC is planning to construct a new crude oil gathering system in Eddy and Lea counties. The phased Avenger crude oil gathering system project scope includes construction of equipment foundations; purchase of pipe; clearing, grading, trenching, pipe stringing, welding, coating, backfilling, testing and restoration; and purchase and installation of centrifugal pumps, motors, switchgear and flow control, metering and lubrication systems. New York Treadcraft Ltd., in a joint venture with Sweden-based Scandinavian Enviro Systems AB, is planning to construct a waste tire recycling plant in Buffalo. The project scope includes construction of building space and equipment foundations; purchase and erection of structural steel; installation of conveyors, pyrolysis reactors, oil and gas recovery systems, gas compressors, quenchers, vacuum suction systems, mixers and separation equipment; purchase and installation of oil and gas storage tanks and char storage silos; and purchase of forklifts and front-end loaders. The plant will have the capacity to process 30,000 metric tons of waste tires per year to recover carbon black, steel, oil and gas. South Carolina Keer America Corp. is planning to construct a third yarn plant at its manufacturing site in Indian Land. The project scope includes construction of an estimated 300,000-sq-ft building and purchase and installation of an air compressor system and blending, dyeing, carding, spinning, winding and packaging equipment. McCrory Construction Co. provided design-build services for Phases I and II and will likely provide the same for Phase III. Construction is expected to begin in the first or second quarter of 2019. The Phase III plant will be used to manufacture blended yarns for the textile industry. Keer America recently completed Phase II, a ring-spinning plant at the site. Texas Enterprise Products Partners L.P. and Navigator Holdings Ltd., in a joint venture, are planning to construct an ethylene terminal at Enterprise’s Morgan’s Point complex on the Houston Ship Channel in La Porte. The project scope includes construction of equipment foundations and spill containment systems and purchase and installation of marine vessel loading, metering, flow control, vapor recovery and fire suppression equipment. The facility will have a storage capacity of 30,000 tons of ethylene, a loading rate of 1,000 tons per hour and the capacity to export 1 million tons of ethylene per year. Black & Veatch and PCL Industrial Construction Co., in a joint venture known as BPC, have been selected to provide EPC services. Matrix Service Co. is supplying the storage tanks.
