Health care spending remains steady as Columbus adds more care options

A decline in non-building activity is expected to be offset by growth in residential and non-residential work.

“All of the major health care institutions in the Columbus region have a heavy focus on ambulatory spending in lieu of clinical/inpatient spending,” Verst says.

“It looks like that’s going to continue to occur probably for the next couple of years. Obviously they vary in size, but we range from small urgent care clients in local neighborhoods—retail, health care locations—to really large surgery centers and ambulatory centers. The other end of the spectrum is big hospitals that still offer ambulatory services,” he says.
