Planning and schematic design are underway for two new middle schools on one site in the Capital School District in Kent County, including one focused on trades. Further action on the projects, which are valued at more than $110 million, depends on approvals. The schools could share facilities such as athletic fields, the auditorium and the kitchen. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority seeks a consultant to provide design-build services for demolition and replacement of the Northern Bus Division and the Bladensburg Bus Division at 2251 26th St. NE. Required work may include site survey, geotechnical and environmental investigations and cost estimating. The RFQ/RFP for the two separate projects, each worth up to $250 million, is expected to be available before April. Further schedules are to be determined. Donohoe Development Co. has proposed a mixed-use residential building at 5151 Wisconsin Ave. NW. The up to $50-million project would include a six-story building with 230 apartments and 17,000 sq ft of commercial space. A below-grade garage would have 230 spaces.
