Overall spending expected to tumble in 2020 after posting a large increase in 2019

“Missouri is focused on its bridges,” Grossenbacher says. “About 1,200 statewide are in poor condition. Almost 200 bridges in the state are classified as major structures, over 1,000 ft long. With the Mississippi and the Missouri rivers running through and next to the state, we have some very long bridges and some of those are in need. The current director of the department of transportation and the new governor are very supportive of transportation. We’ve recently gotten some funding to address some of our bridge issues throughout the state.”
