The new home for Texas A&M’s Academic and Student Services is a three-story multipurpose masonry building, the front facade of which features two stories of glass curtain wall cantilevered over the recessed building entry. Inside, student support spaces are integrated with classrooms, laboratories and faculty offices.

The team faced challenges including inaccurate and sometimes missing utility as-builts. One of the solutions was to use hydro-excavation to pinpoint all existing utility crossings. Hoar Construction’s team also used an engineered transition assembly to bridge the gap between the window system and exterior envelope, eliminating potential human error in applying the joint sealant—this was a first for both the contractor and A&M.
