Hines plans to develop a five-story luxury apartment complex at the Edge-on-Hudson development in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. The project, which will deliver 246 apartments, would be part of phase two of the $1-billion mixed-use, transit-oriented development. Edge-on-Hudson is set on a 70-acre site on the Hudson River that was formerly the site of a General Motors assembly plant. In a separate project in the development, Toll Brothers is building a mix of brownstone-style townhomes and luxury condominiums, part of phase one. Toll could construct as many as 306 residential units at Edge-on-Hudson. SunCal and Diversified are the master developers for the overall development, which is anticipated to include 1,177 units of housing, a 140-room boutique hotel, 135,000 sq ft of retail space and 35,000 sq ft of office space. The project also includes more than 16 acres of parkland. Earlier this year, Nelson Byrd Woltz was named as the landscape architect to design the waterfront park as well as additional paths and open spaces at the development.
