On an early September morning, project engineer and photographer Matt Ricks snapped documentary photos using an iPad Pro of the Level 2 slab pour on the Hyatt Place Texas Christian University (TCU) hotel.
“The pour began at 2 a.m. that morning, and I was on site to supervise the project’s first elevated slab pour,” Ricks says. “In the picture, I was documenting the progress as we neared completion of Level 2, Pour 1.”
The six-story, 107,478-sq-ft hotel, being built by Jordan Foster Construction for Campus Hotel Ventures, will include 150 rooms, a 3,500-sq-ft ballroom, outdoor pool, rooftop bars and two Topgolf Swing Suites at the rooftop level.
“There are two things that I like best about the photo. First, is the color in the sky as the sun was rising over the beautiful city of Fort Worth, and the other is how the sun was captured in the photo at the end of the boom on the concrete pump truck,” Ricks says.
The project is scheduled for completion later this year.
