Arizona OpWest Development LLC is planning to build the Curio Hotel in Scottsdale. The six-story, 97,058-sq-ft building will contain 169 rooms, a 4,000-sq-ft restaurant, an 8,000-sq-ft amenity deck with a pool and lounge areas, and an underground parking garage. Colorado Tallgrass Energy is planning to construct the Cheyenne Connector, a 70-mile, large-diameter interstate natural gas pipeline, to move natural gas from processing facilities in the Denver-Julesburg Basin in Weld County to the Rockies Express Pipeline Cheyenne Hub, just south of the Colorado-Wyoming border. Minnesota Ryan Companies US, Inc. is planning to create an extensive mixed-use development in the Highland Park neighborhood of Saint Paul. It will include 3,800 housing units (760 of which are expected to be affordable), 265,000-sq-ft of office space, 150,000-sq-ft of retail and service space, 50,000-sq-ft of civic and institutional space, and a solar power array. It will also include four new parks and the preservation of two Little League ballfields. The 122-acre site formerly belonged to Ford, which produced cars there from 1925 to 2011. Weidner Apartment Homes will partner with Ryan to develop the market rate units, while CommonBond Communities and Project for Pride in Living will support the delivery of the affordable units. Tennessee Parkes Construction is planning to build the Avalon Franklin Apartments on a 54-acre site at the northwest intersection of Cool Springs Boulevard and East McEwen Drive in Franklin. It will total 471,255 sq ft of retail and office space, and 510 residential units (388 rental apartments above retail and commercial space and 122 townhomes and stacked flats). It will also include a movie theater, restaurants, underground parking garages, a day care center, a food hall, a fuel station and retail with open outdoor sitting spaces adorned with benches. Florida Wal Development Group has started construction of Avenir, a huge mixed-use project in Palm Beach Gardens. The 4,763-acre property will ultimately have 3,900 homes, of which 960 will be for people 55 and older; 2 million sq ft of office space; 400,000 sq ft of commercial space; and 200,000 sq ft of medical office space. Plans also call for 300 hotel rooms, two Crystal Lagoons, a golf course, 15 acres for a City Hall annex, 20 acres for agriculture and 2,407 acres for conservation. Washington The Naval Facilities Engineering Command has awarded Manson Construction Co. an $89.4-million firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a Seawolf-Class Service Pier Extension at Naval Base Kitsap Bangor. The project entails constructing a 520-ft by 68-ft single-level, reinforced concrete, general-purpose submarine berthing pier extension to the existing pier, with pier-side utilities, communication systems and two 580-sq-ft concrete floating camels. The pier extension includes engineered pile and caps to support the pier deck, a fixed crane, equipment pads, mobile cranes and utility buildings. The project also configures and adds to the existing wave screen attenuation system and modifies the existing small craft berthing at the service pier. Additionally, the project constructs a low-rise compressor building on the pier for new tool air compressors and breathing air compressors; alters an existing building to accommodate new and existing lift stations, sewage equipment, storm drainage, industrial wastewater services; and provides a new emergency generator.
