A joint venture team of Haydon Building Corp. and Kiewit is providing design-build services for the Broadway Road Water Campus in Buckeye, Ariz. This fast-tracked critical infrastructure project, designed by Stantec, includes a service area master plan and a water campus with a 4-million-gallon-per-day reservoir. Other elements are four large diameter steel treatment tanks, a single barrel box culvert, two onsite pumping stations, arsenic filtration, chemical treatment systems, reverse osmosis pilot study, six well sites, approximately 30,000 linear ft of pipeline, as well as electrical, instrumentation and integration with the city’s existing SCADA system.

“This is a picture of our very first concrete pour on the reservoir, which took place May 24, 2019,” Gaschler says. “I was hoping to capture the memory of our first pour. As we look back almost a year later, it’s fun to think about how much has changed since that first pour. I was on site early that day to capture this moment for the structures crew before my shift started.”
