The Association of Equipment Manufacturers has elected Otto Breitschwerdt, Caterpillar vice president with responsibility for its building construction products division in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., to its construction equipment sector board.
Architecture and engineering firm Ghafari has promoted Scott Hahn to vice president, Ben Rowe to senior project manager and Chris Costis to structural engineering manager at its headquarters in Dearborn, Mich.

Holland Construction Services in Swansea, Ill., has hired Eric Eggers as a senior preconstruction manager. Eggers comes to Holland with nearly 30 years of industry experience and more than 20 years of experience in the St. Louis market.
Ryan Cos. US has promoted Jim McDonald to president of the Great Lakes region at the company’s Minneapolis headquarters. He most recently served as senior vice president, market leader of the region. Tim Hennelly, the immediate past president of the Great Lakes region, has elected to rejoin Ryan’s development team to focus on new business and mentorship.
Mike Fenske has been promoted to president in Burns & McDonnell’s global facilities group in Kansas City, Mo., which he had led as general manager since 2013. Under Fenske’s leadership, the group has grown annual revenue 30% each year, from $76 million to $725 million.
Mark Mockus has been promoted to market director in the Chicago office of architecture, engineering and geospatial design firm Woolpert. He will lead the firm’s private market.
The Boldt Co. of Appleton, Wis., has promoted Todd Pingel to vice president of information technology. He most recently served as the company’s director of information technology. In his new role, he will lead the company’s efforts in cybersecurity and technology support. Emily Haupt has been promoted to vice president of talent strategies at Boldt and will be leading talent development across the company. In her new role, she will lead performance management, talent and leadership development, career planning, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement and the identification of high potential individuals in the organization. She joined Boldt in 2017. Scott Clark was promoted to vice president of business development with a focus on the firm’s northern operations in Wisconsin. Scott Frazer has been promoted to vice president of corporate safety; he had been corporate safety manager. He joined Boldt in 2013 as a safety specialist and has held a variety of positions in safety leadership for the company.
Donald C. Grant, chairman of Grant Masonry Contracting Co., Fenton, Mo., died on Feb. 24 at age 88. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, later joining the commercial construction business his father founded in 1946. The firm was involved in projects that included the Gateway Arch Museum and the St. Louis Zoo. Grant was former president of the Mason Contractors Association of America and the St. Louis chapter, and had been a board member of the International Masonry Institute. Among his recognitions. he received the American Subcontractors Association Midwest Council Legacy Award in 2015.
