The AEC community is looking forward to continued growth in the Phoenix region in the upcoming year, Palomo says. “PENTA is currently working on several projects in Phoenix, and we are optimistic about the construction outlook across all market sectors, including tribal gaming, hospitality, health care, higher education and public works,” she adds. “Even during the pandemic we have continued to see the expansion of diverse project pursuit opportunities. Based on current pursuits starting construction in 2021 and 2022, we will be looking at growing our Phoenix team and bringing more jobs to the area.”

Palomo says that while construction in Phoenix has been slowed by the pandemic, “this area seems to be faring better than others and continues to show signs of growth. Contractors and designers have been effective in finding creative ways to push forward on many projects, keeping progress moving, even during these challenging times,” she says.

AEC employment has stayed strong through the pandemic, and recruiting and retaining talent will need to remain a critical focus, Palomo says.
